Ukraine Adoption Attempt #2

It has been a few weeks since my last entry but just wanted to let you know that we are headed back to Ukraine this coming Sunday to try again!... Yes , I know what you are thinking. We cannot get enough and  have too much money to spend but the reality is we really want to help these children and are not about to give up without a fight!  So stay tuned for the next couple of weeks as it should be another adventure.

When I read these stories of adoption I must wonder. Do we not know that orphans and retaining orphans and orphanages is an industry in Ukraine? Also, adoption is a counter industry. Both industries must be fed. Of course the children are the ones who suffer, not the adults who wish to adopt. It is not at all about the adults who hope to adopt to help a child. It's about the children.

There are many who truly wish to help these children. Seems like an older sister will have to give up her younger sister forever. Who is thinking about the 16 year old child?

Adoption is not the only way to truly help these disadvantaged Ukrainian children. Sometimes a greater love and long time commitment is being asked for by a higher authority, much higher any human can reach.

Hi Michael and Paula! We met you two in the cafe after our SDA appt. back in Sept. We are home with a precious 6 year old son and hope & pray that you will be returning home with a new addition or additions to your family. It is so difficult for us to read what you've been through, but encouraging to see that you're not giving up the fight. Can't wait to see what exciting things lie ahead!
